About David T Douglas

David T Douglas is an award-winning short story author, playwright, fruit grower, wheelchair user, and suitor of Princess Toadstool. With a penchant for combining horror, mystery, and romance, David often writes of love stories affected (for better or worse) by murder, secrets, or past transgressions. Other frequent hallmarks include surprising twists, ambiguous supernatural components, and—drawing from his own experiences—a main character who uses a wheelchair. David’s most successful work, “The Bruised Banana,” won two awards as a short story and was produced as a two-person play by FUSION Theatre (Albuquerque). David’s other works include: Railbird, a full-length play which has received readings throughout Dallas–Fort Worth; “Forget Me Not,” a short story published in Malice in Dallas; and Purple-Eyed Teddy, a full-length play that David plans to rewrite as a novel. Now, after spending nearly a decade in Texas, David has returned to his home state of Arkansas, refocused on writing (and reading) horror, and began growing a wide variety of sweet, spicy, & sour fruits. As a result, he founded Spooky Author as a way to market his creations—whether sweet treats, hot sauces, seasonings, or future self-published works.
